Breaking News In Anime-Funimation To Re-Release For Popular Gonzo Titles!!!!!

Well we haven’t had any good breaking news in a while, but I have something really good for you guys to share with you.

Recently Funimation Entertainment had announced that it had recently acquired four series from the popular anime studio Gonzo. The four Gonzo series that were acquired by Funi were Chrono Crusade, Gantz, Kaleido Star and Peace Maker Kurogane. Originally these titles were distributed by ADV Films.

Currently there has been no official word as to when these series will be released by Funimation. As always stay with AFC for the latest developments on this breaking news story, so until next time. Only In Japan-Mister Donut’s and Pon-De-Lion!!!!!

Well about two weeks ago, I started reading an interesting manga series known as Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play. The series focuses on a young protagonist named Miaka Yuki, a junior high school student who has an obsession with food!!!! Now in the first volume of the manga, Miaka mentions some popular restaurants such as Denny’s, McDonald’s among others. But one of the most interesting places she mentioned was well know popular donut chain known as Mister Donut’s.

Now for those of you who do not know what the heck I am talking about, Mister Donut’s was a popular donut chain here in the states that first open it’s doors back in 1956. The chain was popular all across the United States until the 1990’s when it was acquired by Dunkin Donuts. Currently there are only a small handful of  Mister Donuts chains in the states. However the popular franchise is still going strong over seas in Japan, The Philippines among others.

Now your probably thinking, how is Mister Donuts still doing business after all these years? Well take a look at this picture and you will see what I mean.

So who is this cute little guy, well this is Pon-De-Lion the Mister Donut’s mascot (A play-on of words of the famous Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon). He and his friends are relatively well known for the franchise in Japan from stuffed animals to billboard signs. You can’t go anywhere in Japan without seeing these cute little characters. Here are a few videos featuring Pon and friends, and trust me they are really funny and cute.

Misc Stuff-Vote For Canne’s Anime Blog In Round Four Of The Ani-Blog Tourney!!!!!

Well folks it is coming down to the end for the Ani-Blog Tourney, and it’s really getting down to the nitty-gritty. Unfortunately one of my fellow bloggers Glo The Legend (Author of Eye Sedso) got knocked out of the tournament with only four votes (Not trying to rub it in Glo!!!!!), but hey you did very well in how far you gotten. Breaking News In Anime-Haruhi Season 2 To Be Released On August 17!!!!!

Hello and greetings fellow otaku,

Well before I begin this next post, I just want to clarify some information about a recent post that was uploaded yesterday. Yesterday I mentioned that Bandai Entertainment was re-releasing The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya as part of there Anime Legends collection. Originally I mentioned that this collection was going to include both seasons one and two of the popular anime series. However I was wrong about that assumption, the box set that is going to be released next month is only going to have the original season one episodes and not season two.

But for those who are major Haruhi fans who are wondering when the second season is going to be released, rumor has it that the second season of the popular series will be released on August 17. Now please keep in mind that this is just a rumor and that we cannot officially confirm or deny this information. I am assuming that Bandai will make an official announcement about this later on this week, but I am not going to say that this is an official release date. As always stay with us for the latest developments on this developing story.

And just for the record, all posts that relate to new series and release dates for popular anime series coming to DVD featured on Anime Full Circle have been researched and confirmed by company websites and credible anime news sites such as Anime News Network among other credible news sources. Afc News Update-Haruhi Release Date Announced and Dude Gets Caught Taping Geek Squad Van!!!!!

Now a while back I mentioned that Bandai Entertainment was going to re-release The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya in a complete collection box set which includes both season one and season two episodes. Well Bandai announced about two months ago that the new box set is set to be released on July 6,2010. Now guys, I would like to apologize for not telling you guys about this a few weeks ago but this was around the time that I was getting ready for final exams. Hopefully, I will try not to forget to tell you guys about these important release dates again.

And on an un-related note, about a few days ago a guy was pulled over by a policeman for video taping a Geek Squad van in which he planed to make a parody video of him acting like one of the reps responding to a call. Originally the Geek Squad employee who was being secretly video taped was planning to press charges against the guy taping the van, but the officer let him go with a charge of reckless driving in which he was given a ticket.

Now I don’t know how you guys feel about this, but I personally feel that this guy got what he deserved. Thankfully he avoided getting sued, but in all honesty he shouldn’t have been taping while behind a wheel. One it is dangerous to do so and two, he could have gotten killed for doing this. Misc Stuff-Please Vote For Listless Ink In Round 3 Of The Ani-Blog Tourney!!!!!!

Now for those of you who have been following the Ani-Blog tourney over the past two months, the competition has been getting really interesting. But while some of your favorite blogs may have been knocked out of the running, however there are still a few of my favorites that are still in the race. And one of them is a well know blog entitled Listless Ink.

Now for those of you who are un-familiar with Listless Ink, let me give you a bit of insider information. Listless Ink is a site that provides an ton of valuable information about the world of anime and everything in between. The site is ran by a really great comrade named Yi. Yi always comes up with interesting posts to read whether it is anime related or not. It’s definitely worth checking out if you are looking for fresh perspective of the anime world.

So in conclusion, I would like to ask all you loyal readers out there to please take a moment of your time to vote for Yi and Listless Ink in the Ani-Blog tournament. Yi has been able to win in the first two rounds of the tournament, but at the moment she is facing off against Random Curiosity in which they are currently leading with 64 percent (66 votes) of the vote while Listless Ink has 36% (37 votes): “Results current as of June 6, 2010 (6:28PM)”.

Afc News Update-Funimation’s Parent Company Suffers Fourth Quarter Loss!!!!!

Now as we mentioned last week Funimation Entertainment’s parent company Navarre Corporation announced plans to sell the popular anime distribution company. Today, Navarre released its fourth quarter financial results for the 2010 fiscal year.

The company reported a fifteen percent drop in net sales in the fourth quarter in which the company brought 18.8 million U.S. dollars in sales. The software division increased over fifty percent while Funimation’s net sales declined for the second quarter in a row due to a weak release schedule. The company has plans to refer Funimation as a discontinued operation once a deal has been made. However Funimation will still be functioning as normal. No further details have been announced as to when the sale will occur.
