Anime Reflections-Carl Macek 1951-2010

April 19, 2010

Hello and greetings fellow otaku,

Well over this past weekend, we lost another pioneer in the anime industry. Carl Macek, producer and story editor of the popular 80’s anime series Robotech passed away from a massive heart attack on Saturday April 17, 2010.

Besides Robotech, Mr.. Macek also has done work with other series such as Bleach, Castle In The Sky, Lupin III:The Castle Of Cagliostro and My Neighbor Totoro. Carl Macek was 50 years old at the time of his passing.

I feel that Robotech was one of his best works, I was first exposed to this series back in 2005 when I first brought the Protoculture Collection of Robotech. Even though I originally was exposed to the series by reading the novels by Jack McKinney, the series really brought what I read into a strong perspective. Thus I officially became hooked to the series.

So Mr. Macek, may you rest in peace and may your legacy in the anime industry live on now and well into the future. Ltrs.

Afc Mindbenders-Quotes In The Blank!!!!!

April 17, 2010

Hello and greetings fellow Otaku,

Now most of you readers out there know that I am an anime and manga junkie, however I also have other interests. And one of my other interests is playing word and puzzle games. So as I was reading USA Today one afternoon, I came across a puzzle game known as “Don’t Quote Me”.

The game was quite simple to play, you are given a quote from a famous person with some words missing. The object is to put the words in the correct position to complete the quote exactly as the famous person said it. All in all it is a really fun game, actually it kind of gave me an idea for a new segment entitled Afc Mindbenders.

Now this segment will have a different variety of games ranging from matching puzzles to word games in which will not only test your anime knowledge, but your brain as well. So to kick off this first ever edition of Afc Mindbenders, we are going to play a similar game like Don’t Quote Me in which I like to call Quotes In The Blank!!!!!!!

Basically, I am going to give you guys a quote from an current, classic or popular anime series with some word missing from it. All you have to do is fill in the missing words to complete the quote. And don’t worry, I will give you guys the missing words to help you out. Ok, so lets get started shall we.

Souta Takanashi

So for this particular quote, I got this from episode one of the new anime series Working!! The Quote comes from Sota Takanashi. Here is a clue to help you guys out!!!!!!!!!!!

Clue: This is what Takanashi feels about his supervisor!!!!!!!

I’ve _______ that ________ ________ screws ________ your

________ and _________ you _________!!!!!! It’s _________!!!!!!

Missing Words

Growing, With, Hormones, Irritable, Old, Heard, Makes, Menopause.

So try to see if you can figure this one out. But please don’t give the answer away in the comment’s section. It will totally ruin it for those who want to play!!!!!!!!!!!! And until next time, remember that there is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.

Misc Stuff-Why Do I Blog?

April 11, 2010

Hello and greetings fellow Otaku,

Well just the other day, someone asked me if I am a freelance journalist by trade since I run an anime blog? Well to be honest, I am not a freelance journalist by trade. Granted I wanted to major in journalism when I was allot younger, but when I learned that you could only make around thirty thousand dollars a year, I kind of had to switch career goals (AKA Information Technology). But to be completely honest, I love blogging!!!!!!! So I would like to share with you guys a couple of reasons why I blog.

1) I love sharing my passion of anime with the world

So the first reason on why I blog is that I just love sharing my general passion for anime with you readers out there. I know that most of you readers out there are hard-core anime fans just like me, and that most of you are interested in hearing about the latest information about the latest acquisitions from major anime studios, reviews of current and classic anime series and a whole lot of other things. Thus I tend to work hard to make these things a reality for you readers out there.

2) I am always interested in what other bloggers have to say

The second reason why I blog is that I am always interested in hearing what my fellow bloggers have to say. So over the past year and a half that I have been running Anime Full Circle, I have made a lot of close friends with my fellow anime bloggers. I always stop by almost every single day to see what they have to say. Some of the sites that I check out are EyeSedso, 2old4anime, Listless Ink, Badden Badden Lily and a few others that would take me to long to mention. Overall they are very interesting to read and I always try to leave a comment or two to share my thoughts on what they are talking about. I will post links to these sites at the end of this post for those of you who want to check them out.

3) Running a blog can be hard work sometimes, but I enjoy every minute of it

And the third and final reason on why I blog is that blogging can be sometimes be hard work, but in all honesty it is well worth it. Granted there are some days that I don’t feel much like blogging and there are days that I just want to give up and quit. But no matter how much I wanted to give up, I still keep going. I know that I have the support of my fellow anime bloggers out there and that they are out there to give me the strength to continue this great site. And I will never stop giving you guys what you want to hear!!!!!!

So those are just some of the reasons of why I blog. I always try to keep these things in mind whenever I blog, this way I can keep creating interesting posts to share with all of you. So until next time, remember that their is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.

Otaku Time Warp-iMac G3

April 9, 2010

Hello and greetings fellow otaku,

It’s time now for another edition of otaku time warp. And this edition of otw, we are going to go back to around twelve years ago when a little company know as Apple Computer started to turn itself around and re-invent it’s image. Keep in mind that this was way before the ipad, ipod and iphone came into our lives.

Now most of you guys remember the iMac G3, the first generation of the iMac computer line. Most of you guys probably remember all the colors that they used to come in such as red, purple, aqua green, tangerine and a few other colors. I totally wanted one when I was twelve, but at that time macs were still very expensive. Baka, but overall they were pretty cool. I wish that Apple would try to bring back the colors back, not only it would bring back the nostalgia factor but it would look really cool as well. Enjoy everyone and until next time. Remember that their is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.

Otaku Time Warp Extra

Now if you think that is interesting, check out the imac G3’s little brother the ibook!!!!!!!! Enjoy.
