Afc Quickies-Tenchi Returns To Toonami Next Saturday Along With Two Other NON-ANIME Related Shows!!!!!

November 4, 2012

Tenchi Muyo GXP (2)

HELLO and greetings fellow otaku,

Well I have some exciting new for those of you who are Tenchi fans out there. Starting this Saturday (November 10th, 2012), Tenchi will return to Cartoon Network’s Toonami block for the first time since 2004 (When the original block was airing strictly anime). But your probably wondering which Tenchi series will air, check the schedule below to see what it is!!!! (Schedule changes highlighted below in red)!!!!!

New Schedule Starting September 10th 2012:

12am: Bleach

12:30am: Tenchi Muyo GXP!!!! (Replacing Samurai 7: Moving to 1am)

1pm: Samurai 7 (Replacing Casshern Sins)

1:30pm: Thundercats (Replacing Eureka 7: Moving to 2:30pm)

2pm: Sym-Bionic Titan (Replacing the Inuyasha Block which is moving to 5-6am)

2:30pm: Eureka 7 (Moving From 1:30am)

3-4am: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

4-5am: Cowboy Bebop (Replacing Ghost In The Shell)

5-6am: Inuyahsa (Moving From 2-3am)

Current Schedule Saturday November 3rd 2012:

12am: Bleach

12:30am: Samurai 7

1am: Casshern Sins

1:30am: Eureka 7

2-3am: Inuyasha

3-4am: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

4-5am: Ghost In The Shell

5-6am: Cowboy Bebop

Now I know what your thinking, it’s a good line up but WTF are two non anime related shows dong on the freaking schedule (Sym-Bionic Titan and Thundercats) respectively. These are actual cartoons which have no rights airing on a late night anime block anywhere!!!! CN had to shift a few shows around to air a decent program and air two pieces of junk which decent programming was. Thus I have one thing to sum it up in the words of the Late Morton Downey Jr.

“Idiots and dummies, I say hang the creeps by their (Insert explicative here)”!!!!!!!

Sorry, had to edit since we have younger readers here. But if you want to see the actual quote, click below to see it.

And that will wrap up another edition of AFC Quickies, so make sure to vote on Tuesday and make time to watch Tenchi this weekend as well. So until next time, remember that there is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.

Afc News Update-New Bleach Episodes On Adult Swim Starting August 28 and Minor Schedule Changes!!!!!

August 15, 2010

bleach 2

Hello and greetings fellow Otaku,

Now for those of you who are wondering when Adult Swim will be airing new episodes of the popular anime series Bleach, well have I got some good news for you.

Now back in March I mentioned that Adult Swim would not be airing any new episodes of Bleach starting in April, so for over the past four months all you have been able to see were re-runs of the first eight seasons. Now while this was good for those of us who have never seen the series before, hard core fans of the series have been dying to know when are new episodes coming. Well if you were watching Adult swim last night, you may have seen an on screen bump stating that new episodes will be airing starting August 28.

Now this is all well and good, but you probably thinking to yourselves what is going to happen to the rest of the schedule. Well here is a look at what’s in store for the anime block starting August 28.

Adult Swim Saturday Night Anime Block (8/28/2010)

12:00 AM-Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (Repeat Episode (Ep.3))

12:30 AM-Kekkaishi (New Episode (Ep.14))

1:00 AM-Bleach (New Episode (Ep.168*))

1:30 AM-Inuyasha (Repeat Episode (Ep.1))

2:00 AM-Cowboy Bebop (Repeat Episode (Ep.3))

2:30 AM-Cowboy Bebop (Repeat Episode (Ep.4))

3:00 AM-Ghost In The Shell (Repeat Episode (Ep.6))

3:30 AM-Ghost In The Shell (Repeat Episode (Ep.7))

4:00 AM-Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (Encore Pres (Ep.3))

4:30 AM-Kekkaishi (Encore Pres (Ep.14))

5:00 AM-Bleach (Encore Pres (Ep.168*))

5:30 AM-Inuyasha (Encore Pres (Ep.1))

*Beginning of season 9 story arc (The New Captain Shusuke Amagai)

So overall the schedule will pretty much remain the same with the exception that Inuyasha will be replacing the second episode of Bleach at 1:30 and 5:30AM and FMA:Brotherhood will be on hiatus until further notice in which the forst twenty-six episodes of the series will be repeated in its entirety.

It is also understood that Bleach will be taking over the 12:00AM time slot that FMA:Brotherhood has occupied since February and that episodes of King Of The Hill and The Boondocks will be taking over the 2:00 and 3:00AM time slots from Cowboy Bebop and Ghost In The Shell. Currently their is no word as to when these changes are taking place.

As always we will keep you posted on further developments on this breaking story as they become available. So until next time, remember that there is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.

Andrew’s Anime Rants-Adult Swims Possible Acquisitions And Why I May Get A Mac

January 15, 2010

Hello and greetings fellow otaku,

Well it has been an interesting week for the anime industry, but their is a couple of things that I have been thinking about. So I think the best way to express this is to create a new segment entitled Andrew’s Anime Rants. And for my first rant, I am going to be talking about Adult Swims possible acquisitions and why I might consider buying a Mac. Ok I know that the second subject in the rant is not anime related, but I have my reasons in which you will see momentarily.

1) Adult Swims Possible Acquisitions

Now for those of you who may not have heard, Cartoon Networks Adult Swim block has recently lost the rights to air Death Note and Blood+ in which the network aired the last five episodes of Death Note on Sunday January 10,2010. However the network has claimed they have obtained the rights to three new series in which the network aired an on-screen bumper which stated,

We’ve lost the rights to Death Note and Blood+. We’re just clearing house for goodies from our last Tokyo visit. We can’t tell you anything yet, but we think we bought three series [maybe].”

Source-Anime News Network

So I have been keeping a close eye on the anime discussion boards all across the net and I have noticed a trend in which most people have been agreeing to. The three shows that might possibly come to the Adult Swim block are,

1) Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

2) Inuyasha: The Final Act

3) Soul Eater

Please keep in mind that these are just general speculations from anime fans and that it has not yet been confirmed as if these series or others may replace Death Note and Blood+. We will be keeping a close eye on this situation and we will keep you posted on further developments.

2) Why I Might Consider Buying A Mac Instead Of A Netbook

Ok, I know that this next topic is not anime related, but I feel that I need to let out a little steam. A while back I told you guys that I wanted to get a netbook for Christmas so that I can do some blogging on the go. Well I got some gift cards for Christmas and I was going to get one, but I have decided to wait because most of the major computer companies have released new netbook models with the new Pineview processors. Now I have seen a few on Amazon that I wanted to get, but I decided to wait until they were available at Best Buy, but sadly they have not have them out for sale just yet.

Now they still have the older models available for a lot less than they used to, but let me say this. Best Buy, the new netbook models have been out for almost a week now so why the heck do you still have the older models available but not the new ones? Granted I know that you are still trying to get rid of them, but you are currently way behind. What’s up with that? So this brings me to maybe purchasing a Mac instead. I heard so many good things about them and that my little brother recently purchased a 27” Imac in which he enjoys the heck out of it. And to be quite honest, I really wanted to get a Mac for such a long time. And with the release of snow leopard, it makes me want one even more. So in conclusion, if Best Buy doesn’t get their act together by getting the new models in, the Mac may be coming closer to fruition. But anyway, this will wrap up this edition of Andrew’s Anime Rants. So until next time, remember that their is a ton of great anime and manga out there. all you have to do is find it. Ltrs.
