Anime Reflections-As One Decade Of Anime Ends and Another One Is About To Begin!!!!!

Anime New Year

Hello and greetings fellow otaku,

Well in a few hours from now, a strong decade of anime will come to an end. But as we all know, a new decade of Japanese animation will flourish. Now normally this would be the time that I do my annual five predictions post for the new year. However, I am going to hold off on that until tomorrow. So for this post, I am going to take just take a moment to reflect on what the anime industry has given us over the last ten years.

In the past ten years, the world of Japanese animation has provided us quality entertainment that not only expanded our imaginations but it also gave us a glimpse as to what our world could be like without all the troubles and problems that plague our society. So whether it was all the pollution that spewed out of the water spirit in Miyazaki’s acclaimed animated feature Spirited Away or the struggles of those who lived in the streets as shown in Satoshi Kon’s classic Tokyo Godfathers, anime makes us feel good and gives us a sense of enlightenment to what our future can bring us.

So what does the future of anime hold for us as we enter the second decade of the 21st century? Will we see more groundbreaking works that will challenge us to reflect on our lives as a whole? Will new technological developments be able to enhance our experience with this form of entertainment? Or will we see the end of this popular medium as we know it. Only time will tell as the answers to these questions unfold, but for the time being let us enjoy this medium for what it is worth. Because well never know when this will come to an end.

So until tomorrow, remember that there is a ton of great anime and manga out there. All you have to do is find it. Ltrs.

You’re true about that. I always think that anime will never fade away. As we can notice now, anime series are coping up with the changes of people and technology. There’s always something new 🙂

This has definitely been a great decade with a lot of changes since 2000. I’m curious to see what anime will look like in 2020.

    Happy New Year!

Let hope Anime remains strong for the next several generations – I know my son is already a fan – he wanted Naruto or a One Piece Manga to read 🙂
